A collection of six beaded purses, last quarter nineteenth century to second quarter twentieth century. Comprised of: a) a black and amber beaded purse, stamped Germany on the frame, kiss clasp closure, 6.5 x 6.25; b) a green dominant beaded purse, kiss clasp closure, 6.25 x 5.5; c) a large fringed silver dominant beaded purse, kiss clasp closure, 6.25 x 8.75; d) a brown velvet and red linen beaded open-top purse, 6.5 x 7; e) a similar open-top fringed velvet and linen beaded purse, 7.25 x 7; a large brass-framed midcentury fringed beaded purse, kiss clasp closure, 6.5 x 6.75. All measurements approximate and do not include fringe or hardware except the frames; a mix of lined and unlined interiors, condition varies.
- Condition: Varies, fair to near fine with condition issues common to bags of such age and construction. These include (letters corresponding to description): a) hardware evenly rusted, minor bead loss; b) hardware rusted, moderate ongoing bead loss; c) losses to fringe, wear to frame, minor bead loss; d) wear and tears to fabric, bead loss, e) losses to fringe, minor bead loss; f) near fine.
