Description:

Little Big Horn fixed blade knife, found between the timber fight line and horse holder area on the Reno portion of the Little Big Horn battlefield. It was recovered by Jason Pitsch (1994) on land owned by his family for generations, probably dropped by a soldier during the battle. The design produced in the 1860's an 70s. The blade is 10" long and has a tapered tang, 5A239 written on top of handle. The knife has been electrolyzed to prevent further deterioration. CONDITION: Major wear and pitting on blade, handle has major wear from age and exposure.
