Framed 13th Mississippi Regiment battle flag, Confederate Battle Flag of General Steven D. Lee (Commander of the 13th Mississippi, circa 1860) brass plaque under flag, 45 5/8" x 49 1/2", all stars plus the inscription "Miss 13th Reg & sewed unevenly with period 1860 twirled thread. Provenance: Formerly owned by General Lee, presented as a gift to his son Blewett, later given to Franklin L. Riley, Mississippi History Society and Professor of University of Mississippi. CONDITION: Very good minor wear, loose twirled threads, browning at edges. NOTE: This item & information was obtained from the owner, a prominent Philadelphia military/weapon collector.
