Early Chinese Export transferware Bowl, porcelain for European Market, 9 3/8" d x 4 1/8" h with four courting scenes, late 18th / early 19th C. CONDITION: Some rim edge wear from age and use, minor wear inside bowl. [Edited to add: Bowl is liverpool-decorated, 3rd quarter of the 18th century. Blank is porcelain, almost certainly of English manufacture. There was a design in the center bottom of the bowl with a motto, but it has been completely effaced. Bowl has wear to interior bottom and to the rim. No chips, cracks or restorations. L-shaped faint hairline in underside of bottom (about 1" by 1.5") which does not extend through to interior.]
