1838 Map of Philadelphia,Engraving, entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1838 by T G Bradford, in the clerks office of the District Court of Massachusetts, featuring the city (South to Vine, river to river) with surrounding townships, Passyunk, Moyamensing, Southwark, Spring Garden, Penn Treaty, Northern Liberties and Kensington as well as the east part of West Philadelphia, with interesting landmarks, county prison, old navy yard. Streets west of Broad running north and south were Schuylkill (N or S) Eighth to Front, color accents, custom matted and framed [ 18 1/2" x 21" ] by (John Wanamakers) Condition; minor wear and browning especially near edges from age, some staining on top center of map and left corner.
